Introduction

Mooney Mooney Bravo

After having spent some time at the controls of our Mooney Bravo, it was thought to be a good idea to proceed to more advanced flying.

Last online workshop we used the Practical P3D Flight Handbook to get us going.

In november 2020 the crew of SBL participated in an online (due to COVID-19) collaborated flight experience. Use was made of the acquired P3D v4 licenses and the knowledge, partly condensed in the above mentioned Practical P3D Flight Handbook, of the participants.

Since we are looking to expand the possibilities of the battle lab, while focusing more on the Military side of M&S we want to explore other simulations, e.g. DCS World.

DCS in the battle lab

To be able to test the KIXS/SIM SBL environment and meanwhile gather additional knowledge and practical experience using the M&S tools we want to evolve to:

  • a more complex M&S and CGF environment,
  • a more challenging hands-on experience, also for development,
  • the possibility of modifying and tweaking the M&S tools and environment (e.g. using LUA scripting),
  • enable our battle lab setup to be a platform for Defense CD&E, stand-alone or connected to other battle labs,
  • MSaaS: fully extend the connective possibilities and constraints (!) (e.g. HLA and DIS; VR Forces and other simulations / federates),
  • experiment with different hardware configurations to improve on our Generic Operator Station concept.

In this online Handbook we'll address the following concepts:

  • installation, running and hosting the simulation
  • connecting the various modules,
  • operating the various modules,
  • configuration of hardware, software, interfaces and controls, as needed,
  • evaluating the outcomes
  • look ahead on promising CD&E subjects

All of this while having fun, which obviously also is rather important! 😊
